CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's tennis team will start the spring season at home taking on USC Sumter Fireants.  The match is set for Saturday, Feb. 10 at 2:00 p.m. and will be the first of the eight-match spring schedule.
 
The program features new head coach Kavir Kumar, a UNC Chapel Hill graduate where he was recruited to play tennis at Chapel Hill in 2016 where he went on to become an NCAA Finalist in 2017.
 
Kumar is a 2015 North Carolina state championship while simultaneously receiving the USTA NC Sportsmanship Award.
