CHARLOTTE - Week zero begins for Johnson C. Smith University football team as they begin the 2024 season, in Montgomery, Alabama taking on SIAC opponent Tuskegee University in the fourth annual Redtails Classic.
 

The game will take place on Sunday, September 1 at 7/6 p.m. inside the historic Cramton Bowl.  

The game will be televised on ESPNU. 

Maurice Flowers is entering his third year at the helm. Last year he led the Golden Bulls to a 7-4 record and a berth in the Florida Beach Bowl. 
 
Sunday's game will be the 19th meeting between the two schools, as Tuskegee leads the series 5-12-1. 
 
The Golden Tigers under the direction of second-year head coach Aaron Jones, Tuskegee went 7-4 overall and 6-2 in SIAC play during the 2023 campaign.    
  
The game will be one of three non-conference games for the Golden Bulls this season. Next week, Flowers' team will travel to Atlanta to take on another SIAC foe the Tigers of Morehouse College in a 3 p.m. kickoff.
