SALEM, Va. --- Due to power outages across the Western North Carolina region caused by Hurricane Helene, Saturday's CIAA football game between Bluefield State and Johnson C. Smith has been moved to a new location.
The game will now be played at Salem Stadium located in Salem Va. This is also the host stadium for the CIAA Championship game.
Kick-off time is set for 6 p.m. (ET). There is no charge for admission and parking.
CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University football team returns to action on Saturday, September 28 for its second Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) showdown as the Golden Bulls visit Big Blue of Bluefield State University. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Mitchell Stadium.
The Golden Bulls are coming of victory over defending CIAA Champions Virginia Union University last Saturday, winning 21-16. JCSU is 4-0 on the season.
Bluefield State opens up CIAA play after falling to 1-2 on the season after a 40-13 loss to Emory & Henry College.
Saturday's game will be the 12th meeting between the two programs since 1935 with Bluefield State leading the series 6-3-2.
