#21/22 Johnson C. Smith rolls past Winston-Salem State 52–27

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Kelvin Durham accounted for five touchdowns and totaled 351 yards to lead #21/22Johnson C. Smith to a 52–27 win over Winston-Salem State on Saturday afternoon at Irwin Belk Complex.

Durham scored twice on the ground and threw for three more, helping the Golden Bulls (7–1, 5–1 CIAA) build a commanding lead that Winston-Salem State (4-5, 3-4) couldn't overcome.

Johnson C. Smith jumped ahead early when Durham capped a 71-yard drive with a 5-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter. After Winston-Salem's Gilberto Lorenzana hit a 22-yard field goal to make it 7–3, the Golden Bulls scored three straight touchdowns to close the half — including Durham's 10-yard keeper and a one-yard toss to Deandre Proctor.

Bobby Smith added a one-yard touchdown run in the final seconds of the second quarter, sending Johnson C. Smith into halftime with a 28–6 lead.

However, the Golden Bulls kept responding. Smith broke free for an 11-yard touchdown with 3:05 remaining, and Proctor sealed the win with a 60-yard scoring reception less than a minute later.
