CHARLOTTE - Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team pulled away in the fourth quarter to earn a 57–46 victory over Johnson and Wales University of Charlotte on New Years Eve at Brayboy Gymnasium.
The game was tightly contested through three quarters, with the Golden Bulls holding a slim 45–44 edge entering the final period. Johnson C. Smith then outscored JWU Charlotte 12–2 in the fourth quarter, using strong defense and second-chance opportunities to secure the win.
Kyrah Davis led JWU Charlotte with 13 points, while Korletta Daniels added 10. The Wildcats shot 36.4% from the field and were held to just one field goal in the final quarter.
Johnson C. Smith was paced by
Egypt Moore-Colman with 11 points, and the Golden Bulls dominated the glass with a 45–29 rebounding advantage, including 23 offensive rebounds. Johnson C. Smith also received a strong bench performance, outscoring JWU Charlotte's bench 30–6, to improve to 4–5 overall.
