WBB takes the Inaugural Black College Invitational Championship Title

CHARLOTTE– Johnson C. Smith's staggering defense held Clark Atlanta to 13% shooting in the third quarter, to defeat the Panthers 65-59, to win the Inaugural Black College Invitational Championship, Saturday afternoon inside Bojangles Coliseum.
 
In the first quarter, Clark Atlanta started strong, leading 21-8, as JCSU struggled with their shooting, hitting only 16% from the field. In the second quarter, the Golden Bulls begin to close the gap, outscoring CAU 15-11.
 
In the third quarter, both teams scored 15 points each. However, in the fourth quarter, JCSU, dominated CAU by outscoring 27-16, securing the win.
 
Kyshonna Brown led JCSU with 12 points, shooting 5-6 from the field.
Desiree Smith, contributed 10 points and two rebounds. Kamryn Williamson, added eight points, including two three-pointers.
 
Tameia Shaw scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds, and A'Qoyas Cody came off the bench to score 10 points and grab eight rebounds.
