Bracket set for 2025 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship; JCSU No.2 in Southern Division

 
CHARLOTTE - With regular season play concluding, the bracket for the 2025 CIAA Women's Tennis Championship has been set. This year's championship will take place April 25-26 on the campus of Virginia State University. Quarterfinal action begins Friday, April 25 at the Virginia State University Tennis Complex. Advancing teams will compete in the semi-finals on Saturday, April 26th at 9:30am and 11:00am. The championship match will follow at 4:00pm. The tournament is free and open to the public.

The top four teams from the Northern and Southern divisions qualify based on their regular-season overall conference record. The top seed in the North, Bluefield State University, will take on the number four seed in the South, Livingstone College, followed by the number two seed in the South, Johnson C. Smith University, which will face the number three seed in the North, Elizabeth City State University. Next up, the top seed in the South, Shaw University, is on the hunt for its seventh straight title and will take on the number four seed in the North, Virginia Union University. The quarterfinals will wrap up with the number two seed in the North, Virginia State University, lining up against the number three seed, Winston-Salem State University. Opening-round games will begin at 10:00 a.m. (ET).

The CIAA Women's Tennis Championship dates back to 2001. Shaw University has won 13 of the 18 championship titles including the last five consecutive years. Fayetteville State captured five of the first six titles, the last in 2007.
