Golden Bulls Fall in Overtime to Bluefield State, 71-63

CHARLOTTE – The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team pushed Bluefield State University to the limit Monday night at Brayboy Gymnasium, but came up short in a 71–63 overtime loss in CIAA play.

The game featured 10 ties and 10 lead changes.

Jamauri Bryant led JCSU with 17 points off the bench, while Trey Pettigrew added 14. The Golden Bulls shot 50.0 percent in the second half to force overtime.

The Golden Bulls stayed within striking distance all night behind balanced scoring and strong perimeter shooting, finishing 45.0 percent from three-point range.

In the extra period, Bluefield State pulled away by shooting 71.4 percent from the floor, while JCSU was limited to five points.
