CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's and women's basketball teams return to play in Brayboy Gymnasium to start CIAA southern division play. The Gold and Blue will host the Broncos of Fayetteville State University on Saturday, January, 17. The women will take on the two time defending CIAA Champion at 2 p.m., with the men's team to follow.  This is the fifth home game in 10 days for both JCSU squad.
 
JCSU takes the court with a 6–8 overall record and 3–3 record in the CIAA, while Fayetteville State has an 11–2 overall record and is 5–1 in conference play.
 
On the men's side, JCSU is 5–9 on the season and 2–4 in the conference. FSU enters Brayboy Gym with a with a 9–6 overall record and is 4–2  in the league.
