CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team returns to the court on Thursday, Jan. 29 as they travel to Winston-Salem State University for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division clash. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Gaines Center.
JCSU enters the contest at 6-10 overall and 3-5 (CIAA), 1-1 Southern Division play, most recently defeating the Bears of Shaw University 90-77 at home.
 
Trey Pettigrew leads the Golden Bulls in scoring averaging 16.5 points per game and is fifth in the league in scoring. Jamauri Bryant contributes 16.5 points per game and grabs 7.2 rebounds per game. Bryant ranks sixth the league in scoring and fifth in rebounds.

WSSU (7-10, 2-6 CIAA, 0-3 Southern Division) returns to the court after dropping a 108-82 decision on the road against Fayetteville State. Leading the Rams on offense is Tyre Boykin who averages 20.0 ppg
