SALISBURY, N.C. — Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team completed its first season sweep of Livingstone since 2020 and extended its win streak to three games with a 77–69 road victory in William Trent Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Bulls (9–12, 7–7 CIAA) used a strong second half and a dominant performance from guard
Trey Pettigrew to secure their third straight win over the Blue Bears, marking their longest streak since the 2025 season. Pettigrew scored a game high 27 points on 9‑for‑14 shooting and added five assists and two steals.
JCSU trailed 39–38 at halftime but outscored the Blue Bears 39–30 after the break, shooting 48.4 percent in the second half and producing 25 fast break points. The Golden Bulls also forced 23 turnovers, converting them into 25 points.
Jared Davis added 14 points and five rebounds, while
Jamauri Bryant and
Anthony Williams each scored 10. Williams also recorded six steals.
The Golden Bulls shot 46.7 percent from the field and 69.6 percent from the free throw line. They scored 38 points in the paint and received 13 points from the bench, led by Marc Raye Jr. with five.
Livingstone (7–14, 4–8 CIAA) was led by James Nipper's 19 points.
