Johnson C. Smith Women’s Tennis Falls to Bluefield State in CIAA Semi's

CHARLOTTE -The Johnson C. Smith women's tennis team saw their postseason run come to an end in the CIAA semifinals on Friday April 25, falling 4–1 to Bluefield State in Petersburg, Va.

Bluefield State set the tone early in doubles play, taking control on all completed courts to secure the doubles point. Despite competitive stretches from JCSU pairings, the Bluefield State duo of
Ekin Ozmen and Adriana Torroba led the way at No. 1 doubles, helping their team build early momentum.

In singles action, Johnson C. Smith battled but was unable to shift the momentum. Farah Elshahat delivered one of the highlights of the day for the Golden Bulls, earning a straight-set victory at No. 2 singles (6–2, 6–3).

However, Bluefield State responded strongly across the remaining courts, including wins at No. 1, No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 singles to close out the match and advance.
