CHARLOTTE - Johnson C. Smith University fell to Johnson & Wales University of Charlotte, 3-1, on Thursday evening.
The Golden Bulls won the opening set 25-22 before Johnson & Wales rallied to take the next three sets, 25-20, 25-16 and 25-22.
JCSU recorded 34 kills, 12 aces and 10 blocks.
Naveah Baker led the Golden Bulls with seven aces and added 19 assists.
Daila Brown,
Rylea Ross and
Lapri Cromer each finished with six kills.
Dacia Lowery led JCSU with six blocks, while Brown added five.
D'Asia Cheatham and
Karmah Thomas each recorded 13 digs, and
Rihanna Myers had 10.
Johnson & Wales was led by Kayden Faglier with 12 kills and seven blocks. Erica Rawlings added eight kills and seven blocks.
The Golden Bulls finished with 31 assists and 52 digs in the match. Johnson & Wales totaled 38 kills, 29 assists and 58 digs.
