Chad Foster enters his first season with JCSU, bringing a strong background as both a player and coach across multiple levels of collegiate basketball.
As a four-year player at Cumberland University, he was recognized in 2019 with the Mid-South Conference Champions of Character Award for his leadership, sportsmanship, and impact on the community. Upon graduation, he transitioned seamlessly into coaching, serving as a Graduate Assistant with Cumberland during the 2021–2022 season. That year, the program enjoyed its first 20+ win season in over a decade and earned a national tournament berth, advancing to the second round.
Following his time at Cumberland, Foster joined Rust College, where he served as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach while also leading the program’s development team. In 2023, he accepted a role at Eastern Oklahoma State College, where he spent two seasons as an Assistant Coach. During his tenure, the Mountaineers captured their first conference tournament win in over a decade.
In recognition of his growth and potential in the sport, Foster was selected in Fall 2024 to the NBA’s second cohort of the Future Basketball Operations Stars Program—a prestigious initiative designed to mentor and prepare the next generation of basketball leaders.
Foster now brings with him his energy, a proven track record of player development, program building, and his passion for shaping student-athletes on and off the court.
