JCSU on a four-match winning streak

Results vs. VA Union | Results vs. Lincoln | Results vs. Bowie State

Lincoln University, PA – The Johnson C. Smith University women's tennis team knocked off Virginia Union, Lincoln University of Pennsylvania, and Bowie State (all 9-0) at the CIAA cross divisional roundup hosted by Lincoln at their tennis complex on March 15-17th. JCSU improves to 7-11 overall and 7-3 in the conference.

The number one doubles pair of sophomore Rankin Anderson (Decatur, GA) and freshman Khadijha (Atlanta, GA) successfully won position against all three opponents. Senior Samantha Barnes (Hampton, VA) and junior Keiana Love (Wilson, NC) played number two doubles in all three matches.

Sophomore Nichelle Heard (Douglasville, GA) and junior Felicia Akande (Winston-Salem, NC) were the number three doubles pair and swept the duo from Virginia Union and Lincoln.

In singles action, the rotation of Anderson, Love, Akande, Battle, Heard, and Barnes played positions one through six in all matches.

JCSU women's tennis plays their next match on Saturday, March 23rd against Saint Augustine's University. First serve in this divisional clash is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Freedom Park Tennis Courts in Charlotte, NC.
