Golden Bulls Volleyball Triumphs Over Bluefield State
Charlotte, N.C. (Oct. 26, 2017) –The Johnson C. Smith University volleyball team had two players record double-digit kills and held visiting Bluefield State to a negative hitting percentage in a 3-1 (25-14, 25-14, 23-25, 25-21) nonconference win in Brayboy Gym on Thursday evening.
The junior duo of
Anteesha Smoots (San Antonio, Tex.) and
Gorana Bogdanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) had 14 and 11 kills, respectively in the win. Senior setter
Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) handed out 34 assists in the win while two Golden Bulls,
Taylor Hendrickson (Kennewick, Wash.) and
Georgina Diaz (Lincolnton, N.C.) had eight digs each.
Freshman
Karina Pressoir (Orlando, Fla.) also had a good outing, piling up nine block assists and four solo blocks in the win.
For Bluefield State, Brittney Deveaux led the way with 13 kills.
JCSU improves to 13-6 overall on the season while Bluefield State drops to 0-12.
The Golden Bulls will return to the court on Monday, Oct. 30, travelling to rival Livingstone for a 6:00 p.m. match.
