JCSU Volleyball Earns 3-0 Road Sweep Over Rival Livingstone
Salisbury, N.C. (Oct. 30, 2017) –The Johnson C. Smith University volleyball team had no trouble with rival Livingstone, earning a 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-12) CIAA Southern Division match in Trent Gymnasium in Salisbury, N.C. on Monday night.
A pair of Golden Bulls led the way, with freshman hitter
Karina Pressoir (Orlando, Fla.) andÂ
Gorana Bogdanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) each recording eight kills in the win. Pressoir managed a .300 hitting percentage while Bogdanovic recorded a team-high .438. She also had a team-high four aces on the night. Junior hitter
Anteesha Smoots (San Antonio, Tex.) also had a productive outing, recording six kills and two block assists.
Senior setter
Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) also continued her strong play, recording 20 assists and four digs while sophomore teammate
Georgina Diaz (Lincolnton, N.C.) had six aces and posted a game-high 13 digs.
The win gives JCSU a 14-6 overall record and a 9-5 mark in CIAA play. JCSU also now sports a 4-4 tally in CIAA Southern Division matches.
The Golden Bulls will return home on Thursday, Nov. 2 for a 6:30 p.m. nonconference match with Benedict. JCSU will be honoring the senior members of the team in the annual Senior Night matchup.
