WSSU Rams Down Golden Bulls Volleyball, 3-1

Anteesha Smoots each had stellar hitting performances, but it was not enough, as Winston-Salem State downed visiting Johnson C. Smith University 3-1 in CIAA volleyball action at Whitaker Gym on Monday night.
Pressoir, from Orlando, Fla., notched a team-best nine kills, while hitting .222. Smoots followed with eight kills on the night while
Gorana Bogdanovic (Belgrade, Serbia) had seven kills. Senior
Azha McNeil (Fayetteville, N.C.) led JCSU with 15 assists and teammateÂ
Taylor Hendrickson (Kennewick, Wash.) had 13 digs in the loss.
JCSU jumped up 1-0 early, surprising the Rams by taking set one 25-22. WSSU was able to rebound, taking the next three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-12 and 25-17 to end the match.
The Rams got 16 kills from Mia Herrod and nine from Sydney Holland in the win.
The loss drops JCSU to 10-4 overall, and 7-3 in CIAA play while WSSU improves to 12-4 and 9-1 in league play.
