JCSU Women's Basketball Drops 81-69 Exhibition Game at Davidson
Davidson, N.C. (Nov. 3, 2017) –  The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team dropped an 81-69 exhibition decision at Division I Davidson on Friday night at Belk Arena.
The Golden Bulls got a team-high 15 points from senior
Monique Hall (Melbourne, Fla.) in the loss. Hall finished 6-of-10 from the field and pulled down four rebounds for JCSU.Â
Malia Rivers (Pageland, S.C.) had 11 points and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the loss.
Senior
Kendall Adams (Opelika, Ala.) had nine points while fellow senior
Asha Jordan (Monroe, N.C.) recorded seven. Sophomore
Maiya Green (San Antonio, Tex.) also finished with seven points. Sophomore
Jamia Johnson (Durham, N.C.) had a good outing off the bench, finishing with eight points on a 4-of-6 effort from the field. Johnson also led all Golden Bulls with five rebounds on the night.
As a team, JCSU shot 51.0% (25-of-49) from the field and 78.9% (15-of-19) from the free throw line. JCSU only managed 28.6% (4-of-14) from long range.
Davidson had four players score in double-figures, with Sarah Donovan recording a game-high 19 points. Three other Wildcats had 12 points each.
The Golden Bulls will open their 2017-18 regular season on Friday, Nov. 10, hosting the JCSU Women's Challenge against Cheney University. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Brayboy Gym.
