The Golden Bull volleyball team used a balanced attack to defeat Claflin 3-0 inside Brayboy Gymnasium on Saturday.
JCSU was never threatened and benefited from a balanced contribution from its players.
Offensively, JCSU was led by
Karizma Brooks (8 kills)
Gorana Bogdanovic (7 kills) and
Monika Krupa (7 kills).
Georgina Diaz recorded four service aces.
Cydney Calhoun (19 assists) Â and
Joi Haywood (12 assists) contributed support to the offense.
When the front line wasn't recording kills, they put of a strong wall of defense.
Krupa, Bogdanovic and Brooks combined for 13 blocks with Diaz picking up 14 digs.
JCSU improves to 10-5 overall (CIAA: 8-1) while Claflin falls to 4-6 (CIAA: 4-4)
The team returns to action when they host Winston-Salem State Monday, Oct. 1 in Brayboy Gymnasium. Â First serve is set for 6:00 p.m.
