JCSU WBB wins two on the road

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Johnson C. Smith University head women's basketball coach Stephen Joyner, Jr., has his first two wins of the 2019-20 season as the Golden Bulls defeated Slippery Rock University 76-52 on Friday and Gannon University 81-46 on Saturday, in the CIAA-PSAC Challenge hosted by Elizabeth City State University.    

Emani Clough recorded her first double digit scoring of the season on the season with 22 points  while collecting two steals on the day. Aubrianna Bonner went five for 10 from the field scoring 10 points and teammate Maiya Green scored 10 as well.

Malia Rivers came of the bench for the Golden Bulls to score 14 points. Rivers shot six of 15 from the field.
 
In game two against Gannon University, Le'Zarea Bowens tallied 16 points while shooting six for nine from the field. Bowens was four of six at the line. She also grabbed eight rebounds on the night.

Rivers had another solid game scoring 14 points on the night. Rivers went four of five from behind the arc.

The Golden Bulls will regroup when they travel to  Wingate for a nonconference tilt on Wednesday Nov. 13 at 6 p.m.
