CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team suffered a tough road loss at Wingate University by a final score of 59-48 on Wednesday night.Â
Emani Clough led the way coming off the bench with 13 points, five rebounds and two steals while teammate
Malia Rivers recorded a 10 points to go along with four rebounds in the loss.

The Golden Bulls (2-1) trailed 17-7 after the first quarter but managed to put together a scoring run in the second quarter. JCSU cut the lead to five with less than 3:03 in the quarter.
Both teams went into halftime as Wingate led 35-25.
Smith would open up the third quarter with a 9-0 scoring frame to cut the Bulldog lead to 35-34.

The Bulldogs (2-1) scored five quick points on the ensuing possessions, including a layup that would give Wingate a 12 point lead.

Teliyah Jeter paced the Bulldogs with 18 points and 16 rebounds while Hanna Clark added 15 points.

Smith will look to bounce back at home for the first time the season with a meeting with the University of Mount Olive on Saturday, Nov. 16. The game is slated for 1 p.m. inside Brayboy Gym.
