JaKeyah McNeil led with a season-high 20 points as the Golden Bull Women defeated the Lady Panthers of Claflin 79-70 Monday evening at Tullis Arena.
Le'Zarea Bowens notched a double-double (17 points, 10 rebounds), while
DeJane' James and Aubrianna Bonner each contributed 10 points.
With the Lady Panthers leading 15-13 at the end of the opening quarter, the Golden Bull women then went on a 8-0 run first the opening 2 minutes to begin the second quarter.
The Golden Bull women would then close out the 2
nd quarter outscoring the Lady Panthers 18-8, to lead 39-23 at halftime.
The Lady Panthers weren't able to overtake JCSU, despite outscoring the Golden Bull women in the second half 47-41, 30 points of those coming in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Panthers will wrap of their regular-season next week, hosting Livingstone College on (Feb. 18) in their last CIAA outing followed by arch-rival Benedict College on (Feb. 21) in a non-conference contest.
JCSU improves to 13-12 overall and 10-5 in the CIAA. The Golden Bull women next host the Livingstone College Blue Bears Saturday for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
