Golden Bulls hold on for the 77-72 win over Livingstone

SALISBURY - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team built a 14-point cushion in the first half and held on to take a 77-72 win over the Blue Bears of Livingstone College on Saturday night in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division contest at New Trent Gymnasium.

The Golden Bulls had three players finish in double figure scoring led by senior Nenad Milenkovic who recorded 18 points, three rebounds and three assists. Senior Cayse Minor tallied 17 points, and four rebounds while junior Austin Nelson added 13 points.

The win improves Smith to 11-5 overall, 5-3 in the CIAA and 2-1 in the Southern Division.

The Bears double digit lead was chopped to five points after the Blue Bears produced a 12-3 run at the 9:59 mark of the second half. 

Smith extended the lead try going to the free throw line four times that would seal the win for Smith.

LC was led by Roger Ray with 30 points, four assists and three rebounds, following Cameron Carpenter with 12 points and three rebounds.
