WBB rolls over St. Aug, 61-46

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Le'Zarea Bowens recorded another double-double as the Golden Bulls defeated St. Augustine's Falcons, 61-46 in a CIAA southern division matchup inside Brayboy Gymnasium on Tuesday night. 
 
Bowens connected 3-of-15 from the field, but made up for it from the free throw line connecting on 11-of-15, Bowens also grabbed 13 rebounds. Maiya Green had 13 points, five assists and seven rebounds while Aubriana Bonner scored nine points for the Golden Bulls first win.
 
JCSU (15-9) shot 24-percent from the field in the first half and 35-percent in the game.
 
The Falcons raced out to a 16-6 lead to start the game. St. Aug held onto its lead the entire half including their largest lead of the game at 21-6 with 9:16 on the game clock.
 
JCSU produced a 14-5 spurt to pull within one to take its first lead of the game. JCSU went on a 9-2 to take a 39-30 lead.
 
Smith will return to action on Saturday, Feb. 15 for a 2:00 pm tip. The Golden Bulls will face the Blue Bears of Livingstone College in a key CIAA southern division matchup.
