Golden Bulls falls to Shaw in CIAA quarterfinals, 3-0

RALEIGH - Johnson C. Smith University volleyball team fell to Shaw University 3-0 in the CIAA quarterfinals on Tuesday evening inside C.C. Spaulding Gymnasium.

The Lady Bears advance with a 17-5 overall record while the Golden Bulls end the season with a 5-16 record.

Shaw edged Johnson C. Smith 25-13 in the opening match and grabbed a 25-11 win in set two before topping the Golden Bulls 25-16 in the final set. 

Mya Crawford led the Golden Bulls with four kills in the setback.  Jada Berry tallied 17 assists while Monique Reid notched 15 digs in the contest. 

Breelyn Carter led all players in the contest with 12 kills for Shaw.  Paige Wordly and Amari Evan each added seven kills in the victory while Carter notched 31 assists.
