WBB gets 81-57 win over Bluefield State

CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team earned its fifth win on the season with a 81-57 victory over Bluefield State College, Saturday afternoon.
 
The victory improves JCSU to 5-3 on the young season while Bluefield State dropped to 0-6 on the year.
 
Ciara Harris led the Golden Bulls with 16 points and seven rebounds while Tori Reid netted 14 points. Tracey Kemp rounded out the Golden Bulls double-figure scoring with 11points and two rebounds.
 
The contest featured the Golden Bulls largest lead of 29 as JCSU held a 46-27 edge on the boards and 42 points in the paint.
 
JCSU connected on 50 percent (35-69) from the field with a 36.3 percent (7-19) night from behind the arc. The Golden Bull also hit on 50 percent (4-8) of their free throws. 
 
JCSU will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 14 as they start CIAA play at Lincoln (Pa.) and followed by Bowie State. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m., for both games.
