CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team fell short against the Fayetteville State Broncos, 75-53, Saturday afternoon inside Brayboy Gymnasium. Xavier Jones led the offensive charge, scoring 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting to go along with nine rebounds.
 
Behind Jones' performance, JCSU (3-9. 0-4) shot 21-of-55 for 42.9-percent from the floor, 7-of-10 from the free throw line (70.3-percent) and 4-of-16 (25-percent) from the 3-point line. .

One other player joined Jones in double figures. Augustine Ominu had a good night, recording 10 points on 5-of-10 shooting.
 
JCSU will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 19 as they travel to Raleigh to face the Falcons of Saint Augustine's University. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
