Golden Bulls top Saint Augustine’s, 66-63

RALEIGH - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball topped the Falcons of Saint Augustine's University, 66-63 Wednesday night inside Emery Gymnasium in a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division contest.
 
Three Golden Bulls (7-6, 2-3 CIAA) scored in double figures for JCSU led by Shaniya Jones who finished with a game-high 21 points and one rebound.

Joining Jones in double digits was Ciara Harris who tallied 14 points while Aubriana Bonner chipped in 11 points.
 
The Golden Bulls finished the game shooting 42.8 percent (22of-50) from the floor while the Falcons shot 51.4 percent (23-of-45). From long distance, JCSU connected 6-of-14 three-pointers (42.3 percent) compared to SAU's 33.8 percent (4-of-12). At the charity stripe, the Golden Bulls netted 64.9 percent (16-of-25) while the Falcons accounted for 61.6 percent (13-of-21).

SAU (5-9, 1-5 CIAA) was led by Taniyah Green ended the night with 15 points.

JCSU will return to action on Saturday, Jan. 22 at I-85 rival Livingstone College at 2 p.m.
