CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University men's and women's cross-country teams competed in the Royals Challenge on Friday hosted by Queens University.
The Golden Bulls placed 21st out of 25 teams in the 5k race with 500 points, while the men finished 26th with 749 points in the 8k race.
Alexandria Riley paced the Golden Bulls with a time of 23:22.31. Jordyn Head finished with a time of 23:53.20, while three runners Trinity Bellamy-Reid, Layla Simpson and Markayla Taylor finished out with under 30 minutes.
On the men's side,
Javion Watkins led the pack for the Golden Bulls finished with an overall time of 35:41.76. Following Watkins, was
Vegas Newport, Stephan Dill,
Deigh Carlos,
Saeed Dupree,
Mikal Dill and
Jabari Williams.
The Golden Bulls will look to race again on Oct. 14 when they travel to Roanoke, Virginia for the Roanoke XC Invitational.
