JCSU EARNS FIRST WIN ON THE SEASON

Box Score The Johnson C. Smith  University women's basketball team earned its first win on the season with a 86-64 victory over Bluefield State University Saturday afternoon in the final day of the JCSU Tip Off Classic inside Brayboy Gym.

The victory improves JCSU to 1-4 on the young season while Bluefield State is now 5-1 

Shaniya Jones led the Golden Bulls with 23 points and five rebounds while India Howard had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Alexis Ellis and Tyliah Burns rounded out the Golden Bulls double-figure scoring with 15 points and 10 points. 

JCSU connected on 51 percent (31-62) from the field with a 44.3 percent (8-18)  from behind the arc. The Gold and Blue also hit on 73 percent (14-19) of their free throws.
