CHARLOTTE – Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team travels to Augusta, Ga., on Monday to face the Lions of Paine College in a non-conference match in HEAL Complex at 5:30 p.m.
The Golden Bulls enter Monday's game after winning their first game of the season. JCSU is 1-3 overall with its win over Bluefield State 88-64 at home on Saturday (Nov. 27).
Shaniya Jones led the Golden Bulls with 23 points and five rebounds while India Howard had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Alexis Ellis and Tyliah Burns rounded out the Golden Bulls double-figure scoring with 15 points and 10 points.
JCSU connected on 51 percent (31-62) from the field with a 44.3 percent (8-18) from behind the arc. The Gold and Blue also hit on 73 percent (14-19) of their free throws.
The Golden Bulls will return home to take on the Eagles of Fort Lauderdale, on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.
