Jones scores 25 as JCSU defeats Fort Lauderdale, 89-37

CHARLOTTE – Shaniya Jones scored 25 points to lead Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball to a 89-37 victory against the University of Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday evening inside Brayboy Gymnasium. The Golden Bulls improve to 3-3 on the season.
 
The Golden Bulls were able to use the bench to outscore the Firebirds 31 to five and out rebound UFL 58 to 27.

Three other players recorded double-figure scoring for Johnson C. Smith, including Najah Lane who netted 17 points, CIAA Rookie of the Week India Howard scored a double-double, 14 points and 18 rebounds and Arianna Jenkins scored a career high of 10 points.
 
JCSU will return to action on Sunday, Dec. 4 as they travel to Bluefield, West Virginia to take on the Blues of Bluefield State. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m.
