Four game win streak snapped, as JCSU falls to App State

Box Score BOONE, N.C. -  Najah Lane each scored 17 points but the Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team dropped an 107-52 decision to Division I foe the Mountaineers of Appalachian State University inside the Holmes Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon.

Shaniya Jones added 13 points to go along with two rebounds while India Howard grabbed 11 rebounds on the night.

For the contest, the Golden Bulls (4-4) shot 23 percent from the floor (14-59), 20-percent from the three-point line (2-10) and nailed only 19-of-27 from the foul line for 68-percent. 

App State (3-5) leading scorers Brooke Bigott and Emily Carver each scored 15 points of the afternoon to lead the Mountaineers.

The Golden Bulls will look to regroup before starting CIAA play before hosting the Bulldogs of Bowie State on Saturday, Dec. 172 at 2:00 p.m.
