JCSU DOES WELL AT ADIDAS XC CHALLENGE

CARY, N.C. - The Johnson C. Smith University men's and women's cross-country teams put together a competitive showing at the Adidas XC Challenge Friday evening at Wake Med Soccer Park.
 
The Golden Bulls finished 13th on the women's while the men placed 13th as well.

On the women's side, Trinity Bellamy-Reid led the pack of Golden Bulls with a time of 23:59.7 while Alexandria Riley finished with a time of (24:14.0) followed by Jordyn Head with a time of 24:17. Rounding out the Golden Bulls was Cyan Peoples (25:18.4) Layla Simpson (27:17.6) and Markayla Taylor (27:42.8).
 
North Carolina State took home first place with 17 total points, followed by Charleston Southern (86) and Davidson (93) in second and third, respectively.

Among the six runners for the Golden Bulls Terry Towah finished with a time of 24:53, Javion Watkins finished 25:50.5 while Saeed Dupree came in with a time of 26:55.4, and rounding the men's team was Deigh Carlos (27:49.6, Stephan Dill (28:42.6) and Jabari Williams (30:19.4
 
The Wolfpack of NC State placed first overall as a unit with a total of 20 points. Charleston Southern and Elon took home the silver and bronze medals with 48 and 85 points, respectively.
 
JCSU men's and women's cross country will return to action on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Queen City invite Charlotte, N.C.
