Volleyball goes 2-1 in CIAA Roundups

PETERSBURG, VA - The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team went 2-1, in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Round-Up at the VSU Multipurpose Arena on the campus of Virginia State University on Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, against Virginia Union the Golden Bulls defeated VUU, 3-2.
 
Camri Goodwin tallied 15 kills to lead the Golden Bulls to victory over the Bowie State women's volleyball team 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 16-25, 25-15, 11-15) on Sunday at Multipurpose Center.
 
Eliana Moultrie had a game high of 14 kills. Defensively, JCSU had three players reach double figures in digs as Monique Reid tallied 29 while Moultrie and Goodwin had 18 and 10 apiece. Yasmine Cannon added 33 assists on the day
 
The wins give the Golden Bulls record to 4-7 overall and 3-2 in CIAA action.
 
Against Bluefield State, stats are in unavailable, but the Golden Bulls fell to Big Blue, 3-2.

The Golden Bulls return to action on Thursday, Oct. 5 as they host the Panthers of Claflin University. First volley is set for 6 p.m.
