JCSU Falls to FSU in Volleyball 3-1

CHARLOTTE, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University volleyball team fell to the Broncos of Fayetteville State University 3-1, (19-25, 25-19, 25-12, 25-17) on Thursday night in Brayboy Gymnasium.

The Golden Bulls falls to 4-14 overall and 3-10 in the CIAA and 0-6 in the division, while the victory improved Fayetteville State's record to 13-11, 7-s in CIAA and 3-2 in the division.

Eliana Moultrie led the Golden Bulls with 12 kills and two blocks. Camri Goodwin recorded nine kills on the night. On the defensive end, Monique Reis chipped 19 digs as Goodwin had nine and Moultrie tallied three.

How it Happened
SET 1 | The Golden Bulls took set one 25-19 as Fayetteville State trailed by as many as eight points.
SET 2 | Fayetteville State evened the match at 1-1 with a 25-19 set-two win.
SET 3 | The Broncos grabbed control of the set early when the score was 6-5 and never looked back to win 25-12.
SET 4 | It was a back and forth in the fourth set tied up at eight all, before the Broncos took over the lead. Fayetteville State earned the match win with a 25-17 fourth-set victory.
