BOWIE- The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team fell short against the Bulldogs of Bowie State University, 84-71, Monday morning inside A.C. Jordan Arena.
Avery Huggins led the offensive charge, scoring 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting to go along with nine rebounds.

Behind Huggins' performance, JCSU (6-4, 1-2 CIAA) shot 25-of-60 for 41.9-percent from the floor, 15-of-21 from the free throw line (71.3-percent) and 6-of-17 (35-percent) from the 3-point line.

Two other players joined Huggins in double figures.Â
Ashton Sherrell scored 12 while
Jamauri Bryant chipped in 10 points.
JCSU will go on a short holiday break but will resume CIAA play on January 4
th, as they will host the Trojans of Virginia State University.
