Danielle Williams, World Champion in the women's 100m hurdles

CHARLOTTE - Former JCSU alum Danielle Williams is a world champion once more.

The Jamaican sprung a surprise from the inside lane to clinch the women's 100m hurdles final at the 2023 World Athletic Championships in Budapest on Thursday eight years after she last claimed world victory in Beijing in 2015.
 
Williams's 12.43 seconds was confirmed, 0.01 ahead of Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, and now 2023 – world champion who claimed her country's first gold at Budapest 2023.  

Keni Harrison, the former world record holder, crossed the line third in 12.46 in a fast race.
