CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team fell 59-44 to the visiting Falcons of Saint Augustine's University on Saturday afternoon Brayboy Gymnasium. The loss dips the Golden Bulls (11-10) to an 8-6 in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) as the Falcons improves to 12-10 to 6-8 against league opponents.
QueenRuffin scored a game-high 13 points, while
Kelis Carmon added 10 points and grabbed five rebounds,
Ashlei Kirven grabbed 10 boards on the night.
For the contest, JCSU shot a mere 26 percent while SAU shot well over 40 percent. JCSU connected 16 of 21 free-throws (76%).
JCSU will return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 13 versus Winston-Salem State University. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
