RICHMOND – The Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team fell 88–36 to Virginia Union on Friday night at Barco-Stevens Hall.
Jared Davis led the Golden Bulls with 16 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting and added five rebounds.
Trey Pettigrew finished with eight points, while
Bradlee Wolf pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. JCSU struggled managing just 10 field goals and four bench points on the night.
Virginia Union jumped out to a 44–14 halftime lead. The Panthers shot 54.8 percent from the field for the game and scored 40 points off turnovers, while holding JCSU to 27.8 percent shooting.
Virginia Union was led offensively, by Malachi Dark with 15 points.
The loss moves JCSU to 3–4 overall, while Virginia Union improves to 11–1. Friday's loss marked the first time since 2022 that Virginia Union defeated Johnson C. Smith by more than 50 points inside Barco.
