Men's Basketball takes third in BCIC defeats Central State, 75-61

CHARLOTTE - In a thrilling match up at Bojangles Coliseum, Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball team emerged victorious over Central State University of Ohio to take third place in the Black College Invitational Championship with a final score of 75-61.

Both teams were neck and neck, ending the first half tied at 26 points each. Central St. shot 37% from the field, Johnson C. Smith pulled away in the second half, outscoring Central St. 49-35. They shot an impressive 51% from the field and 72% from the free-throw line.

Ashton Sherrell led his team with 23 points, shooting 7-10 from the field and 7-8 from the free-throw line.

Javon Anderson  contributed 12 points, including 2 three-pointers. Asa White added 11 points and 4 rebounds.

JCSU dominated with 38 points in the paint and 16 points from their bench.
