Golden Bulls Surge Past Livingstone, Win 84–66 at Home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Johnson C. Smith University men's basketball used a dominant second half and a career night from Trey Pettigrew to power past Livingstone, 84–66, on Wednesday night inside a packed Brayboy Gymnasium.

The Golden Bulls (8–12, 6–7 CIAA) trailed only briefly before taking control late in the first half, then outscored the Blue Bears 47–36 after the break to secure their sixth conference win. Pettigrew led all scorers with 27 points on 9‑of‑16 shooting, adding four steals and six rebounds.

Jamauri Bryant delivered 19 points and six rebounds, attacking the rim and going 7‑for‑9 at the free throw line. Javian Cannady added eight points, while Travon Gray and Jessiah Pierre‑Johnson each chipped in seven off the bench to help JCSU's reserves outscore Livingstone's 20–24.

JCSU shot an efficient 50% from the field and dominated the paint with 46 points inside. The Golden Bulls also turned defense into offense, scoring 14 points off turnovers and pushing the pace for 17 fast break points.

Livingstone (7–13, 4–7 CIAA) was led by Erick Coffey's 21 points and Kenneth Tyree's 15 points.
