Golden Bulls WBB Host Virginia State

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - After a week off a competition last week, the Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball will return to action and look to add more in the winning column on Thursday, Nov. 21 when the Golden Bulls host Virginia State University in conference play.

Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. inside the historic Jack S. Brayboy Gymnasium.

The Golden Bulls (3-1) have not seen action since Nov. 16, when they defeated Mount Olive 79-65.

Offensively, senior Malia Rivers leads the charge with an average of 14.3 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per contest while senior Emani Clough puts up 13.0 points and 3.5 boards per game.

The Golden Bulls notch 69.8 points per game, while shooting 43 percent from the floor and 44 percent from 3-point line. Currently, JCSU is shooting 63 percent from the foul line.
The Virginia State University women's basketball team faced the Rams of Shepherd University in the SAC-CIAA Conference Challenge. The Trojans took a 79-63 loss in the matchup.

Autumn Hopson remains consistent by leading the Trojans scoring with 13 points. Yazmen Hannah was not too far behind with 10 points. For a consecutive game, Chiqueria Cook controlled VSU's boards with seven rebounds. Teammate Natalia Leaks followed through, gaining seven rebounds of her own.
