Shaniya Jones scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead five players in double figures but the Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team seven game win streak was snapped by Fayetteville State University in a 76-72 overtime decision for a Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Southern Division contest Saturday afternoon inside Capel Arena.

The loss dropped the Golden Bulls to 12-6 overall, as they remain atop of the Southern Division 5-1 while FSU now stands 11-8 on the year and 4-2 in league standings.Â
Aubriana Bonner added 14 points and 12 rebounds for JCSU.
Ciara Harris and
Mahley Holit each scored 14 points. The Golden Bulls had a tough night at the line, shooting 50.6-percent (12-24) compared to the Broncos who connected 13-of-16 at the charity stripe 80 percent.

The Golden Bulls caught fire early, taking a 26-20 lead over Fayetteville State in the opening quarter. FSU used a 13-9 scoring to pull within two (35-33) at halftime.

FSU would go on to outscore the Golden Bulls 16-15 both in the third and fourth quarter but with one second on the clock tied at 65 all, JCSU missed two free throws sending the contest into overtime.Â
In OT, the Broncos outscored JCSU 11-7 in the extra session, to give FSU the win.
Rasheka Simmons led the way for FSU with 21 points while Aniylah Bryant added 19 points and five rebounds.
