FOOTBALL HOST LINCOLN (Pa.) FOR HOME OPENER

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Johnson C. Smith University football will look to get into the win-column after suffering its first conference loss of the season at Chowan, by hosting cross division foe Lincoln (Pa.) University on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Irwin Belk Complex. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m.

The Golden Bulls are 0-2 on the season entering Saturday's game under the leadership of first-year head coach Maurice Flowers. JCSU suffered a 32-29 decision at Chowan in its last outing. The Golden Bulls are averaging 31.5 points per game offensively, while allowing 33.5 points on defense.

Tyrell Jackson leads the offense from the quarterback spot with 688 passing yards and four touchdowns while Tim Newman, Jr., 109 rushing yards leads the ground game.

Defensively, Sharrod Simmon is the team's leader in tackles with 16 and a conference-best 10.0 tackles per outing.
 
The Lions of LU enters Saturday's contest with 1-2 overall record and a 0-1 mark in the CIAA under the leadership Josh Dean.

Freshman quarterback Isaiah has two starts into his collegiate career. Through five halves of football, he is 33-of-58 for 379 yards and three touchdowns. He is also second on the team in rushing with 142 yards.
