CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Johnson C. Smith University football team has re-entered the D2Football.com Top 25 poll, earning the No. 25 ranking in the latest poll released Monday, Oct. 12.

The Golden Bulls, who hold a 5-1 overall record, return to the national rankings following a strong start to the 2026 season. Johnson C. Smith is one of three teams to rejoin the Top 25 this week, alongside Carson-Newman at No. 20 and Shepherd at No. 24.

Johnson C. Smith's return to the national poll highlights the Golden Bulls' continued progress as they pursue another successful season on the gridiron. The program is building on its historic 2025 campaign, when JCSU captured the CIAA football championship for the first time in 56 years.

The Golden Bulls will look to maintain their momentum as they continue conference play and work toward another postseason opportunity.
