Volleyball to begin season on the road

CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team will start its 2022 season on the road in Columbia, S.C., this weekend in the Allen University Tri Match. The Golden Bulls will begin with a match against Allen at 11 a.m. and finish out the day with Clinton College at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3.

The Gold and Blue are coming off a 2021 schedule that saw them post a 5-16 overall record and 5-11 mark in league play.  

The Golden Bulls return four players for JCSU this fall while head coach Mark Raley welcomes six newcomers to the fold.

JCSU was picked ninth in the preseason poll and fifth in the Southern Division.
