WISE, Va. - The Johnson C. Smith University women's volleyball team opened up their first match of the Cavalier Classic with a 3-1 win against Davis and Elkins behind a game-high 11-kill match from JCSU's Anya Valentine.  In the second game of the day the Golden Bulls fell to host UVA Wise 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
● JCSU took the first set 25-12 after finishing on a 5-0 scoring run
● The Senators took game two with a 25-23 over the Golden Bulls.
● JCSU looked poised for a another set as they once again jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the third set winning 26-18.
● The Golden Bulls secured the win in the fourth set with a 25-16 win over D&E to get their first win of the season on the road.

● Yasmine Cannon continues to dominate in the setter role for the Golden Bulls after recording 31assists and a career-high three service aces
against Davis & Elkins.
● Anya Valentine, led the Golden Bulls with a game-high 11 kills, followed by Eliana Moultrie and Camri Goodwin with nine kills.
● Valentine led JCU in digs with a game-high 20 against followed by 15 each from Goodwin.
