WBB Goes 1-1 in the CIAA Cross Conference Challenge

Box Score CHARLOTTE - The Johnson C. Smith University women's basketball team went 1-1 over the weekend in the CIAA Cross Conference Challenge. On Saturday the Golden Bulls fell to the host Virginia State 80-51. Besty Burnett led the team with 20 points. She shot 6 of 16 from the field. Burnett shot 6 of 13 from three point area and went 3 of 6 from the free throw line. Desiree Smith had a double double on the night scoring 12 points and grabbibg 12 rebounds.

On day two, JCSU picked up a win in overtime. The Golden Bulls defeated Lincoln (Pa.) 71-68. Kyshonna Brown scored 21 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while Burnett scored 16 on the afternoon.  

Up next the Golden Bulls will take on Edward Waters on Wednesday, Nov. 20 in Jacksonville Fla. Tip off is set for 5:30 p.m.
